The Texas Teachers Retirement System of Texas (TRS) says they will not be increasing their health care plan premiums for TRS-Care in 2021, and prescription drug benefits will remain at the same level, as said in a release.

TRS said that Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) will be administering the TRS-Care Standard medical plan for those under 65 as well. The new plan will cover most providers, but members should check the BCBSTX website to make sure their provider is listed.

United will administer the Medicare Advantage plan and 99% of plan members’ providers will be included, according to TRS.

All changes to TRS-Care is scheduled to take effect on Jan. 1, 2021.

More information about the changes can be found on the TRS website
