Report: Carlyle School District spent $10,431 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Carlyle Community Unit School District 1 was up 12.3 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Clinton County school district spent $9,291 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,431 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,161 to 974 students over the same period.

Carlyle's spending in 2019-20 was 28 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
