As a precaution during uncertain times, Texas teachers are being reminded that under state law, school boards must notify them about contract renewals at least 10 days before the last instruction day of the school year.
Texas K-12 student expenditures rose 11.5% from 2015 to 2018
The total public expenditures paid out per student in Texas went from $11,704 during the 2014-15 school year to $13,054 in 2017-18, an increase of $1,350, or 11.5 percent, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) reports.
