Aloe Elementary issued the following announcement.

VISD will be providing free breakfast and lunch for all students while face-to-face instruction is suspended due to COVID-19

FREE Breakfast and Lunch Service for Students:

Ensuring students have access to quality, nutritious meals is a key component of our support as we work during the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). We want to provide you with information about our current food service plans so you and your family can plan.

Starting Monday, March 23, we will offer curbside breakfast and lunch to any child age 18 and younger Monday through Friday at several of our schools. A student does not need to attend school at the distribution location to get meals. Students must be present to receive a meal. Due to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) rules, we can only distribute meals to students when they’re on site. We are hoping the USDA relaxes these rules to make it easier to provide these meals in the future.

Drive-thru pick-up will take place in the front drive of each designated elementary distribution campus listed below. Pick-up at Stroman will be on the Ben Wilson side by the tennis courts. In an abundance of caution, people should remain in their vehicle. Meals will be brought to the cars.

Serving Times

Breakfast: 7:30 - 9:30 am

Lunch: 10:30 am - 12:30 pm (Stroman site will serve until 1:00 pm)
