BAIRD ELEMENTARY: Enroll Now in Off-Site Learning

Programs

Press release submission Jul 29, 2020

Offsite

Baird Elementary issued the following announcement.

The District will be offering an off-site (remote/virtual) learning option for parents/guardians whose students are unable to attend school in the fall due to an underlying health condition or that of a family member, as well as for parents who may not be comfortable sending their children to school in the fall.

For parents/guardians who choose the off-site learning option, if during the school year they wish to have their students return to school, the District will allow that change at each quarter/trimester during the school calendar.

We are still working through many of the details. Understanding how many families are interested in choosing the off-site model will assist us as we continue to plan.

In order for you to make the best decision, we want to share with you our initial considerations for a possible on-site or blended option for fall. If staffing, facilities and other factors will allow us to, our goal is to implement the Centers for Disease Control, Brown County Health Department and local medical professionals guidance for on-site or blended learning. Guidance examples include:

Physical distancing of 3-6 feet

-Elementary: smaller in-person class sizes, specials in the classroom, breakfast and lunch in the classroom, built-in movement and mental health breaks

-Secondary: smaller in-person class sizes, limited movement (if any) between classes, breakfast and lunch in the classroom

Face coverings for all adults and students

Please complete the form below if you wish to enroll your child(ren) in the off-site learning model. We recognize that circumstances related to transmission of COVID-19 may change prior to the school year. Families will have until Friday, August 7, 2020 to enroll.
