The Local Governing Cooperative, otherwise known as BuyBoard is releasing approximately $10.5 million in rebates to over 1,000 entities across the state of TX.
The entities receiving funds from this rebate range from public schools to colleges and universities to government institutions. BuyBoard functions as an avenue for its members to connect with one another so they can combine their spending abilities to afford various equipment, services, or products.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Cooperative Marta Alvarez attested to the value of the organization- Alvarez stated ““The purchasing power of the Cooperative drives competitive prices and reduces administrative cost. It allows us to be efficient and effective in the procurement processes and as a result, provides the best value to the taxpayer.”
TX membership for BuyBoard and the Cooperative has now reached above 5,300 memberships, marking an all-time high for the organization. Since 2006, the Cooperative has also been able to return over $70 million dollars to its eligible members. Values of rebate amounts are dependent on an entity’s purchasing activity in a given year.
