Round Rock Independent School District issued the following announcement.
Round Rock ISD monitors numerous data points to guide the District’s response to COVID-19. Those include the number of active student and staff cases, the community’s test positivity rate, area hospital bed capacity, and active cases by ZIP code. The District’s COVID-19 Response Team is in daily contact with the Williamson County and Cities Health District and Austin Public Health. The team maintains close contact with neighboring school districts and state agencies to guide decisions related to the pandemic.
The District has identified four stages with recommendations for each stage:
PREVENTION
No confirmed cases of COVID-19 among staff or students.
COVID-19 prevention protocols are in place,
Daily intensive cleaning and frequent cleaning of common areas,
Limited visitor access, and
Monitor the virus trends in the community via health departments.
MITIGATION

One or more confirmed case(s) of COVID-19 per facility (Number of close contacts determine the next steps.)
Persons who came in close contact of an individual with a confirmed case of COVID-19 will be contacted and advised to quarantine,

The affected area is closed for deep cleaning, and
General notification of potential exposure and recommended self-monitoring communicated to all persons at the facility.
MODIFIED OPERATIONS

Multiple confirmed COVID-19 cases in one specific area (i.e., wing)
Individuals in close contact in that area are advised to quarantine at home,
Students and staff impacted move to remote learning model,
The affected area is closed for deep cleaning and sanitization,
General notification of potential exposure and recommended self-monitoring communicated to all persons at the facility, and
A short-term closure of a portion of the facility and extracurricular activities may be necessary.
CAMPUS CLOSURE

Confirmed active positive/probable COVID-19 cases exceed 5% of campus occupancy (includes students on campus for extracurricular activities) OR by advisement from national, state, county, or city health authority.
The entire campus and extracurricular activities will be closed for a minimum of two days,
All students and staff move to remote learning model,
The building is deep cleaned and sanitized. Those in close contact with confirmed COVID-19 positive persons directed to quarantine at home, and
Campus-wide communication to staff/parents sent with self-monitoring guidance.
