TASB elects Raymond to represent TASB Region 7

The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors recently announced that it has elected Tony Raymond to an interim position on the board to represent TASB Region 7.

Raymond was appointed President of the Sabine ISD Board of Trustees in 2016. He has served the board since 2004 and helped establish the Sabine Education Foundation in 2016 which has raised over $350,000 for deserving teachers and students.

Raymond has been a member of Rotary International since 2012 and is actively involved in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, a program to help young people develop leadership skills. He is also a scout leader for Boy Scout Troop 259, serving as scout leader since 2005.

He is currently employed at UniFirst Corp and has more than 25 years of experience in sales.

Since its inception in 1949, the TASB serves and represents local school boards to speak with a unified voice to decision makers to determine the best future for Texas public schools and students.
