Report: Bremen School District spent $18,139 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Bremen Community High School District 228 was up 19 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $15,247 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $18,139 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 5,224 to 4,969 students over the same period.

Bremen's spending in 2019-20 was 25.2 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
