Report: Steeleville School District spent $9,320 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Steeleville Community Unit School District 138 was up 8.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Randolph County school district spent $8,584 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,320 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 472 to 438 students over the same period.

Steeleville's spending in 2019-20 was 35.7 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
