Report: Northwestern School District spent $12,287 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Northwestern Community Unit School District 2 was up 17.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Macoupin County school district spent $10,447 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,287 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 374 to 361 students over the same period.

Northwestern's spending in 2019-20 was 15.2 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
