Report: Cook County School District spent $17,114 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Cook County School District 104 was up 19.4 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $14,337 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $17,114 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,873 to 1,683 students over the same period.

Cook County's spending in 2019-20 was 18.1 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
