Report: St. Elmo School District spent $10,026 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at St. Elmo Community Unit School District 202 was up 6.3 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Fayette County school district spent $9,431 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,026 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 478 to 428 students over the same period.

St. Elmo's spending in 2019-20 was 30.8 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
