Report: Bellwood School District spent $12,773 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Bellwood School District 88 was up 26.4 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $10,103 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,773 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 2,500 to 2,392 students over the same period.

Bellwood's spending in 2019-20 was 11.9 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
