Report: Winthrop Harbor School District spent $10,941 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Winthrop Harbor School District 1 was up 25.3 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Lake County school district spent $8,729 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,941 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 580 to 543 students over the same period.

Winthrop Harbor's spending in 2019-20 was 24.5 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
