Report: Lawrence County School District spent $10,314 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Lawrence County Community Unit School District 20 was up 16.3 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Lawrence County school district spent $8,867 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,314 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,231 to 1,160 students over the same period.

Lawrence County's spending in 2019-20 was 28.8 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
