Report: Crab Orchard School District spent $8,284 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Crab Orchard Community Unit School District 3 was up 12.7 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Williamson County school district spent $7,353 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $8,284 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment remained unchanged over the same period, with 521 students.

Crab Orchard's spending in 2019-20 was 42.8 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
