Report: Chester-East Lincoln School District spent $9,111 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Chester-East Lincoln Community Consolidated School District 61 was up 2.3 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Logan County school district spent $8,903 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,111 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 292 to 278 students over the same period.

Chester-East Lincoln's spending in 2019-20 was 37.1 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
