Report: Central A&M School District spent $12,958 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Central A&M Community Unit School District 21 was up 41.5 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Shelby County school district spent $9,158 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,958 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 771 to 716 students over the same period.

Central A&M's spending in 2019-20 was 10.6 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
