Report: Rockford School District spent $13,802 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Rockford School District 205 was up 13.7 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Winnebago County school district spent $12,141 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $13,802 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 28,459 to 28,194 students over the same period.

Rockford's spending in 2019-20 was 4.8 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
