Report: Champaign School District spent $16,594 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Champaign Community Unit School District 4 was up 25.7 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Champaign County school district spent $13,200 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $16,594 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 9,951 to 10,137 students over the same period.

Champaign's spending in 2019-20 was 14.5 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
