Report: Rome School District spent $7,912 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Rome Community Consolidated School District 2 was down 6.8 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Jefferson County school district spent $8,487 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $7,912 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 371 to 408 students over the same period.

Rome's spending in 2019-20 was 45.4 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
