Report: Rochester School District spent $9,279 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Rochester Community Unit School District 3A was up 10.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Sangamon County school district spent $8,393 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,279 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 2,322 to 2,205 students over the same period.

Rochester's spending in 2019-20 was 36 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
