Report: Putnam County School District spent $12,709 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Putnam County Community Unit School District 535 was up 14.1 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Putnam County school district spent $11,137 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,709 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 906 to 844 students over the same period.

Putnam County's spending in 2019-20 was 12.3 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
