Report: Pembroke School District spent $19,504 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Pembroke Community Consolidated School District 259 was up 38.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Kankakee County school district spent $14,072 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $19,504 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 256 to 177 students over the same period.

Pembroke's spending in 2019-20 was 34.6 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
