Officials from the Shapiro Administration, including representatives from the Departments of Health and Aging, visited Country Meadows of York-West to emphasize the positive impact of state investments on long-term care facilities. These investments have been directed towards improving resident safety and reducing staff vacancies.
Governor Josh Shapiro's proposed budget for 2025-2026 allocates $7.5 million to expand quality investment projects (QIP) in long-term care facilities across Pennsylvania. "Residents at nearly 100 long-term care facilities across the Commonwealth positively benefitted from participating in quality investment pilot projects over the past two years," stated Secretary of Health Dr. Debra Bogen. She added that continued investment in these initiatives benefits both residents and healthcare professionals committed to providing necessary care.
The event featured remarks from several key speakers, including Amy Wagaman, Senior Vice President of Operations for Country Meadows; Dr. Debra Bogen, Secretary of Health; and Gabrielle Szymanski, Special Assistant to the Secretary of Aging.
