The Shapiro Administration has introduced a newly redesigned flexible office space in the North Office Building. This development is part of the Space Optimization Utilization Project (SOUP), which aims to enhance the efficiency of state-owned properties. The initiative marks the first comprehensive review of the Commonwealth's real estate portfolio, focusing on creating modern workspaces for employees and centralizing service centers for taxpayers.

Reggie McNeil, Secretary of the Department of General Services, and Neil Weaver, Secretary of the Office of Administration, were present to inaugurate the new office space. The project seeks to reduce leased spaces while improving Commonwealth-owned facilities to adapt to changing workforce needs. It is expected that this optimization will generate significant savings by 2033.

"Speakers in Order: Reggie McNeil - Secretary, Department of General Services; Neil Weaver - Secretary, Office of Administration; Catherine Califano - Deputy Secretary of Business Operations, Dept. of General Services."
