In spring 2024, the Gates Foundation supported the recruitment of public school pre-kindergarten teachers to RAND’s American Teacher Panel (ATP). This survey panel, which includes around 27,000 U.S. public school teachers, had before included educators from kindergarten to 12th grade.

The report outlines the recruitment process for pre-K teachers. It explains the sample selection, recruitment methods, results, and survey weighting approach for pre-K panel members. This initiative aims to include pre-K teachers in gaining insights and data from public school educators across different grades.

The integration of pre-K teachers into this survey panel will help gather more comprehensive data from a wider range of educational professionals, contributing to more informed educational policies and practices.
