The Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) has announced that Google for Education will be the lead sponsor for the 2025 National Teacher of the Year (NTOY) Program. This collaboration aims to enhance the program's mission of honoring outstanding teachers.

More than just recognition, we believe it's crucial to actively elevate teachers' voices, ensuring their invaluable insights and experiences are amplified to inspire progress across the entire educational landscape," said Shantanu Sinha, Vice President of Google for Education.
The NTOY Program involves states, the District of Columbia, the Department of Defense Education Activity, and U.S. extra-state jurisdictions. They select their outstanding teachers to participate in a unique year-long program that celebrates their contributions and offers professional growth opportunities to broaden their impact and leadership. Google for Education, a sponsor since 2016, will contribute further to the National Teacher of the Year Program Endowment and annual initiatives.
The NTOY Program Endowment was launched by CCSSO in 2022 to guarantee the continuation of this special teacher recognition in the future. Google for Education's partnership includes hosting the State Teachers of the Year at its Mountain View, California campus and providing engaging sessions and presenters for program activities.

The CCSSO is a nationwide, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization comprised of public officials who lead departments of elementary and secondary education across various jurisdictional entities. The Council provides leadership, advocacy, and technical assistance on significant educational issues, seeking consensus among members and expressing their collective views to various stakeholders, including civic and professional organizations, federal entities, Congress, and the general public.
