The Vermont Agency of Education has announced a range of upcoming events and grant opportunities designed for educators and administrators across the state. These initiatives aim to support professional development, curriculum enhancement, and engagement programs for Vermont schools.

The Northeast Kingdom Regional Farm to School Gathering, scheduled for May 8 at Derby Elementary School, invites teachers, farm coordinators, school staff, farmers, families, and organizations to connect and share best practices. The event promises resources and networking opportunities in the Farm to School community.

Educational professionals have the opportunity to apply for a new grant facilitating the integration of Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs) into curricula. This initiative helps educators enhance student agency by developing new guidance documents and tools. "Join us to learn about a new grant opportunity that will help SU/SDs integrate the personalized learning planning process and PLPs into curricula across content areas," an announcement stated.

Secondary Math Educators are invited to benefit from a Summer 2025 Grant Opportunity, sponsored by the Agency of Education (AOE). This grant, which opens for applications on May 30, encourages schools to enhance mathematics pedagogy through professional learning.

Behavioral Threat Assessment Team Workshops will be hosted in coordination with the Vermont School Safety Center on May 8 and 9. The workshops support the implementation of Act 29 (2023) requirements and are intended for current and prospective team members.

A unique event titled "Shakespeare or Taylor Swift?" invites Vermont educators to engage students with a playful quiz distinguishing quotes from Shakespeare or modern pop music lyrics. This initiative is part of the educational resources provided by Vermont Public.

Furthermore, the recently adopted 2024 SHAPE America National Physical Education Standards are the focus of upcoming summer trainings. Three full-day events are scheduled in August for Physical Education teachers, with registration necessary to participate.

The Vermont Multi-tiered System Survey's data collection window opens May 1 and will remain accessible until May 31. This survey assists in assessing the application of the Multi-tiered System of Supports (VTmtss) Framework in schools.

Lastly, a media literacy program named Project Community professional development session will occur in New Jersey from July 7-11, supported by the Center for Civic Education. It is targeted at elementary and middle school educators focusing on media literacy and public policy.
