Nebraska education bodies announce HEROES Training aimed at enhancing literacy outcomes

The Nebraska Department of Education, cooperating with the Educational Service Unit Coordinating Council and AIM Institute for Learning & Research, plans to conduct the HEROES (Helping to Elevate Reading Outcomes for Every Student) Training. This event is scheduled for July 18, 2025, at the Younes Conference Center in Kearney, Nebraska.

Focusing on literacy coaching, the training is crafted to provide educators and leaders with evidence-based strategies that align with the Science of Reading. These practices are intended to aid the Regional Literacy Coaches as specified by state law.

Participants will engage in two specialized learning paths aimed at imparting practical literacy coaching strategies and intentional leadership skills. Given the limited capacity, attendees will be selected through a regional distribution model to ensure representation from across the entire state.
