The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, in collaboration with the Williamsport Regional Airport and the American Automobile Association, plans to hold a press conference to remind residents of the upcoming federal enforcement of REAL ID requirements. The event is set for May 2, 2025, at the Williamsport Regional Airport.
Starting next Wednesday, May 7, 2025, Pennsylvanians will need a REAL ID-compliant driver's license, identification card, or another federally accepted form of identification, such as a passport. This will be necessary for boarding domestic flights, entering certain federal facilities, and accessing military bases.
Participants in the press conference include Mike Carroll, the Secretary of PennDOT; Eric B. McKitish, CEO of Williamsport Regional Airport; and Nina Waskevich, Vice President for Brands and Marketing at AAA North Penn.
The event is scheduled to take place near the airport's security checkpoint at 10:00 AM. Media representatives attending the conference are advised to park in the lot next to the terminal.
