The Board of Regents has announced the outcomes of disciplinary actions involving 38 professional discipline cases. These actions resulted in the revocation of three licenses, the surrender of three licenses and one authorization, as well as 31 other disciplinary measures.
In the nursing sector, Megan Elizabeth Miller and Amy J. Fairbanks had their licenses revoked due to probation violations. In physical therapy, Hatem R. Behiry's license was revoked for professional misconduct, while Lyn Jonson Ballener and Go Flex Rehab Physical Therapy, P.C., surrendered their licenses after admitting to fraudulent claims and falsifying patient records.
In public accountancy, Josephson & Josephson CPA’s P.C., also known as Josephson & Dolinger CPA’s P.C., surrendered its registration after failing to meet several professional standards related to audits and registration requirements.
Sanjay Syamaprasad, a polysomnographic technologist from Brooklyn, New York, surrendered his authorization following allegations of unlawfully placing a video surveillance device in a restroom without consent.
Other disciplinary actions were taken across various professions including engineering, land surveying and geology; nursing; ophthalmic dispensing; physical therapy; public accountancy; social work; and veterinary medicine. Penalties included suspensions ranging from one month to indefinite periods based on fitness to practice, probation terms up to two years, and fines varying between $250 and $10,000.
