The Pennsylvania government, under Governor Josh Shapiro's administration, is emphasizing motorcycle safety and training as part of its road safety initiatives. Various state departments and safety advocates gathered at Northeastern High School in Manchester to discuss ongoing efforts to enhance motorcycle safety through the Pennsylvania Motorcycle Safety Program (PAMSP).

For 40 years, PAMSP has offered free motorcycle safety training, aiming to equip riders with essential skills to prevent accidents. This year also marks the successful implementation of a PAMSP training program at Northeastern High School.

"The lessons learned through PAMSP courses provide riders with important training to mitigate crashes and reinforce the message for all motorists and riders to share the road safely," stated PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll. He added that it is crucial for both drivers and riders to stay vigilant on the roads, adhere to speed limits, and operate vehicles responsibly.

The event featured several speakers: Craig Yetter, Community Relations Coordinator for Driver and Vehicle Services; Dr. Jason M. Bottiglieri, Superintendent of Northeastern School District; Mike Carroll, PennDOT Secretary; Kara Templeton, Deputy Secretary for Driver and Vehicle Services; Major Robert Krol from PA State Police Bureau of Patrol; Amy Lena, Deputy Secretary of Elementary and Secondary Education from the PA Department of Education; and Shannen Logue, Commissioner for Product Regulation from the Pennsylvania Insurance Department.
