Dr. Carrie Rowe, Acting Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Education | Pennsylvania Department Of Education
Governor Josh Shapiro visited Isaac Tripp Elementary School in the Scranton School District to discuss his administration's investments in public education. These investments aim to create opportunities for students, support teachers and school staff, and deliver results across Pennsylvania. Governor Shapiro emphasized the importance of continuing this progress through his proposed 2025-26 budget.
Since taking office, Governor Shapiro has secured over $2 billion more for K-12 public education, marking the largest investment in Pennsylvania's history. Consequently, Pennsylvania is now investing more than $11 billion annually in its public schools.
The Shapiro Administration has also established a new funding formula to allocate resources effectively to schools most in need. This ensures that every student, regardless of their location, has access to high-quality public education. The impact of these investments is evident in districts like Scranton.
Speakers at the event included Ty Holmes, Scranton School Board President; Governor Josh Shapiro; Dr. Erin Keating, Scranton School District Superintendent; and Representative Bridget Kosierowski.
