Governor Josh Shapiro and PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll are set to visit Capital Area Transit in Harrisburg to discuss the importance of investing in mass transit systems. The event is scheduled for June 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
The visit aims to underscore how investments in mass transit can create jobs, connect communities, and contribute to Pennsylvania's economic growth. This initiative is part of Governor Shapiro's 2025-26 Budget Proposal, which includes significant funding for mass transit as well as road and bridge infrastructure across the state.
Joining Governor Shapiro and Secretary Carroll will be Senator Patty Kim and Richard Farr, Executive Director of the Susquehanna Regional Transportation Authority. The event will take place at Capital Area Transit's location on N. Cameron Street in Harrisburg.
