The U.S. Supreme Court has reached a 4-4 decision in the case of St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School v. Drummond, leaving the lower court's ruling intact. This outcome has been addressed by Starlee Coleman, President and CEO of the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools.

Coleman stated, "Today’s decision from the Supreme Court leaves the lower Court’s ruling in place and sends an important message: public charter schools are just that, public." She emphasized that while this may not be the final time the issue of religious charter schools is considered by the Court, today's result provides clarity for families and educators.

She further explained that charter schools were established to offer more options within public education. Families opt for public charter schools due to their innovative and student-centered learning environments which cater to individual needs and maintain accountability to both families and taxpayers. Coleman concluded, "With this legal clarity, we can move forward with renewed focus on expanding access to high-quality public charter schools for every family nationwide."
