Lt. Gov. Austin Davis visited Corry in eastern Erie County to emphasize the Shapiro-Davis Administration's focus on investing in rural Pennsylvania. The administration has allocated a $100,000 Main Street Matters grant for commercial façade improvements in the city's historic downtown.
"The Shapiro-Davis Administration is making these investments because we believe they're smart investments," Davis stated. "Every dollar the Commonwealth invests in Main Streets, we get back nearly $8 in return."
The initiative is part of a broader effort announced by the Shapiro-Davis Administration in April, which includes funding 81 community projects through the Main Street Matters program. This program is managed by the state Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED).
Other speakers at the event included Wendy Neckers from the Downtown Corry Business Association, Tom Maggio from the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority, and Charles Gray from Impact Corry.
