Mike Morath Commissioner of Education | Texas Education Agency
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has released the results of the Spring 2025 STAAR End-of-Course (EOC) assessments. These assessments are designed to measure whether high school students have acquired the necessary knowledge and skills to advance academically and ultimately graduate ready for college, a career, or military service.
In Biology, there was an improvement in performance among all students, including those who are economically disadvantaged, receiving special education services, and emergent bilingual students. This progress is part of a broader effort by Texas educators and students to demonstrate academic excellence.
"Texas students and educators continue to work hard to demonstrate academic excellence," said Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath. "At the same time, we also recognize that too many students are still not where they need to be academically. Using a reliable system of assessments, we can continue making progress on the strategies that are most effective in improving student learning and long-term success."
Parents and families can now access their child's individual STAAR EOC results through their school system's family portal or with a unique access code provided by the school. Reviewing these results can help families understand where their child excels and where additional support may be needed.
Aggregate level data for STAAR EOC assessments is available for viewing and downloading by state, region, district, or campus. Results for STAAR grades 3–8 will be made publicly available on June 17, 2025. Parents can view these results using the unique access code from their child's school or through the family portal.
