Pennsylvania attorney general to announce charges in chop shop operation

Attorney General Dave Sunday is set to announce charges against a central Pennsylvania-based organization involved in "chop shop" operations and fraud. The group allegedly used various schemes, including the theft of rental vehicles, which were dismantled and retitled for sale on the black market.

The announcement will take place at 1 P.M. on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the Office of Attorney General in Harrisburg. Attorney General Sunday and Captain James A. Reinard from the Pennsylvania State Police will discuss the charges and provide details on how this criminal organization operated. They will also address the impact these crimes have had on Pennsylvanians.
