Governor Josh Shapiro and Secretary of Revenue Pat Browne are set to announce the distribution of property tax and rent rebates under the Property Tax/Rent Rebate (PTRR) program. The announcement will take place at the East Shore YMCA in Harrisburg. Rebates for taxes and rent paid in 2024 will start being distributed on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

The initial batch includes about 425,000 rebates amounting to $258 million, which will provide essential relief to older homeowners, renters, and individuals with disabilities across Pennsylvania. Governor Shapiro highlighted his administration's efforts during his first year in office by expanding the PTRR program to ease financial burdens on seniors and people with disabilities due to rising costs.

According to recent data from the past two years, approximately 150,000 individuals have been able to file for a rebate for the first time under this expanded program.

Joining Governor Shapiro and Secretary Browne at the announcement are Eric Rothermel from Harrisburg Area YMCA, Bill Johnston-Walsh of AARP Pennsylvania, and Representative Nate Davidson. The event is scheduled for Monday, June 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM at East Shore YMCA.

The announcement can be viewed via live stream on pacast.com/live/gov or governor.pa.gov/live/. Press members interested in attending should RSVP by providing their names and phone numbers to ra-gvgovpress@pa.gov.
