State Superintendent Ryan Walters has issued a memo to Oklahoma school districts regarding the discussion and teaching of the conflict involving Israel and Iran. The directive emphasizes that there will be "zero tolerance for a Liberal, pro-terrorist agenda indoctrinating Oklahoma students."

The move comes amid controversies over educational materials and curricula in other states, which Walters claims have misrepresented events in the Middle East. He stated that Oklahoma is dedicated to providing students with an education based on facts, free from what he described as a "toxic, anti-American, Liberal bias."

Walters expressed confidence in Oklahoma's History Standards, describing them as "the best in the country because they are based on facts and safeguard students from woke, radicalized, terrorist-sympathizing rhetoric pushed by Leftist educators." He further criticized what he perceives as "the Left’s hatred for American values," asserting that such rhetoric has no place in Oklahoma schools.
