Governor Josh Shapiro announced a significant investment from Verne Inc., an energy storage company based in California. The company plans to open its first manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania, with the project valued at nearly $4.5 million. This development is expected to create at least 61 new full-time jobs in Lycoming County. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is contributing over $1.27 million to support this initiative.
Governor Shapiro emphasized the state's commitment to enhancing its competitiveness and business-friendly environment. Since taking office, his administration has secured more than $25.2 billion in private sector investments and nearly 11,000 new jobs through various economic strategies and initiatives.
"Pennsylvania is making strategic investments to grow our innovation, energy, and manufacturing industries," said Governor Shapiro. "My Administration is proud to win deals like this that strengthen our local communities, grow our manufacturing sector, and position Pennsylvania as a national leader in innovation and job creation."
The announcement was made with Verne Inc.'s Co-Founder David Jaramillo and other local leaders present.
