North Dakota is advancing its BRIDGE initiative, with plans to implement Infinite Campus as the new statewide Student Information System (SIS) by July 2026. This transition is part of a larger effort to modernize educational data collection and usage to enhance student success.

In response to inquiries from educators, it has been confirmed that STARS will be phased out. However, its core outcomes and reporting functions will remain integrated within the new BRIDGE data ecosystem. Additionally, TieNet will also be discontinued. The North Dakota Department of Public Instruction's (NDDPI) Specially Designed Services team is working with Infinite Campus to incorporate TieNet’s functionalities into the new system.

Districts will not have access to PowerSchool once Infinite Campus goes live in July 2026, but they will retain access to archived PowerSchool data.

Regarding automation and standardization of course codes, grade scales, grading terms, and attendance codes, these decisions remain under local control. While lack of standardization can hinder automation efforts, NDDPI has limited authority over district uniformity. Districts must map their local values to established codes within the SIS. The BRIDGE initiative aims to support state and federal reporting automation and aggregate data analysis through collaboration between the state and districts.

For further questions or information about future FAQs, educators are encouraged to contact BRIDGE@nd.gov for continued support throughout this transition.
