The New York State Education Department's Office of the Professions announced disciplinary actions in 36 professional discipline cases. These cases involve a range of professions, including massage therapy, nursing, public accountancy, chiropractic, engineering, pharmacy, and veterinary medicine.
In the field of massage therapy, Taylor Schnell from Rocky Point, NY surrendered their license after not contesting charges related to taking unauthorized photos of clients.
Several nurses faced disciplinary actions. Michael Joseph Kastrinos had his license revoked due to professional misconduct. Robert Matthew Fabiszewski admitted to charges involving unlawful contact with a minor and surrendered his license. Valerie J. Seitz and Kelly A. Churney also surrendered their licenses following convictions for assault and identity theft respectively.
In public accountancy, Kurt William Streams from Tampa, FL and Allan J. Robbins from Denver, CO both surrendered their licenses. Streams did not contest charges related to misuse of company funds while Robbins faced allegations concerning misleading audit documentation.
Other professionals agreed to consent orders with various penalties including suspensions and fines. For example, chiropractor Stephen Andre Novelli received a one-year stayed suspension and probation along with a fine.
In engineering disciplines, several professionals including Alberto Roman and Mohamed Hassan Mabrouk faced suspensions and fines for various infractions.
Pharmacists Marc Leonard Levitt and Bethany Ann Kopin were among those who agreed to consent orders resulting in suspended licenses followed by probation periods upon return to practice.
These disciplinary actions are part of the department's ongoing efforts to maintain professional standards across various fields.
