The Nevada State Board of Education is moving forward with its search for a new State Superintendent of Public Instruction. The deadline for applications is set for Monday, July 21. After the application period ends, the Board plans to review submissions during its meeting on July 30 and select candidates for formal interviews.
“We’re seeking visionary leadership dedicated to equity, innovation, and accountability for Nevada’s students,” said Dr. Katherine Dockweiler, President of the Nevada State Board of Education. “This selection process reflects our shared commitment to advancing education across our state.”
Following these interviews and in line with Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) 385.150, the Board will provide Governor Lombardo with a list of three qualified candidates. The governor will then make the final appointment.
The Board invites educators, stakeholders, and community members to stay informed and involved throughout this transition in educational leadership.
