Ryan Walters Superintendent | Oklahoma Department of Education

Today, Superintendent Walters took a significant step by filing a motion with the Oklahoma Supreme Court. The motion requests the court to lift a stay that currently prevents the purchase of Bibles and character education curriculum for the upcoming school year.

Superintendent Walters expressed his commitment to having Bibles in every classroom across Oklahoma this fall. He stated, “The Left has launched an all-out assault on Christianity in this country and will stop at nothing to destroy the Bible’s significance in our country and the principles that shaped this country.” Walters further emphasized, “Students cannot fully understand American History without understanding the Bible’s role in it, despite the liberal hysteria we continue to see.”

Walters also commented on what he perceives as efforts by educators and teachers' unions to remove Christianity from schools. He argued that America's greatness is rooted in biblical principles and that the country's development has been significantly influenced by the Bible.
