Vermont Agency announces education webinars and grants

Setting up a classroom effectively is the focus of an upcoming webinar on August 19, 2025. Educators and support staff are invited to learn techniques for creating a positive learning environment using evidence-based practices. The session will cover designing classroom layouts, organizing instructional materials, addressing student needs, ensuring accessibility, and promoting inclusion. Guidance has been issued for coding Early College students in data collections by superintendents, principals, registrars, and data managers. The document provides codes for exiting students from high school in the fall and re-enrolling them in the spring after completing their Early College program. A one-hour webinar on the Subrecipient Annual Report (SAR) will be held by the Agency of Education for business managers and grant managers/accountants. It is mandatory for recipients of federal funds through Vermont to complete this report annually. Sessions are scheduled for July 30th at 10:30 am and August 5th at 1:00 pm. The Agency of Education has announced grants totaling approximately $6.5 million to four nonprofit Adult Education and Literacy providers over a three-year period from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2028. Although federal funding was withheld for fiscal year 2026, state funds have been released. These programs cater to individuals aged 16 or older who are not enrolled in school but require skills or credentials equivalent to high school completion.
