The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), local police, and safety partners are urging drivers to act responsibly during the National Crackdown Impaired Driving Campaign, which continues through Labor Day Weekend. The campaign aims to reduce impaired driving incidents during a period known for increased travel and celebrations.
Corporal Nicholas Zulick, PSP Drug Recognition Expert Program Coordinator, will be available to discuss drug-detection field sobriety tests. Local municipal police participating in the enforcement campaign will also attend.
Mike Carroll, Secretary of PennDOT; Colonel Christopher Paris, Commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police; Robert Ressler, Perry County Coroner; and Melissa "Missy" Sweitzer, Victim Advocate, are scheduled to speak at an event on Monday, August 18 at 11:00 AM. The event will take place at PSP Headquarters located at 1800 Elmerton Avenue in Harrisburg.
