Governor Josh Shapiro and Nancy A. Walker, Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, are set to meet with labor leaders and advocates to discuss recent changes in the state's Unemployment Compensation (UC) system. The administration states that these efforts have resulted in the fastest call response times in more than six years.

The improvements come as part of Governor Shapiro's ongoing focus on creating an efficient and fair unemployment system for residents who lose their jobs through no fault of their own. The state has hired almost 400 new UC interviewers and expanded in-person support through a program called UC Connect.

According to officials, these targeted investments are intended to help Pennsylvanians access reliable support when they need it most.
